Phillipskop Mountain Reserve is located just 10 minutes outside Stanford, off the R326 towards Caledon and Riviersonderend.

From the N2 West (Cape Town / Caledon side):

At Caledon, follow the road through town and exit onto the R316 towards Bredasdorp. After approximately 30 km, you’ll reach a crossroads with the R326 – turn right towards Stanford.
After 16 km, look for a right turn onto a dirt road signposted to Klein River Farmstead and Phillipskop. (There is an optional shorter route by taking the right turn-off before Klein River Farmstead, but it is not signposted from R326).

• Follow the dirt road past Klein River Cheese.
• At the first junction, turn left and cross the bridge over the Klein River.
• Immediately after the bridge, turn left again. (There used to be a signpost here but it was washed away in the floods.)
• Continue past a gate to a farm on the left and through a small Eucalyptus woodland.
• The chalets and main house of Phillipskop will come into view on the hillside to your right.
• Take the next right turn up the hill onto the reserve (the concrete tracks are steep but suitable for all vehicles).
• Drive past the chalets to the main house at the top, where you’ll find Reception.

From the N2 East (Riviersonderend side):

Roughly 10 km after Riviersonderend, turn left onto the R326 towards Stanford. Continue for about 40 km, then turn sharp right at the signs for Klein River Farmstead and Phillipskop, and follow the same directions as above from the dirt road turnoff.

From Hermanus :

Nb. Although 3km longer, the Caledon route is much quicker for those coming from Cape Town.
Take the R43 east towards Gansbaai and Stanford.
At Stanford, turn left onto the R326 towards Caledon. After approximately 7 km, turn left onto the dirt road signposted to Klein River Farmstead and Phillipskop, and follow the same directions as above from the dirt road turnoff.
